Going from employed to founding something — talk to someone who's done it
The first eighteen months, honestly, from someone with no incentive to sell you a course.
Describe your situationWhy this instead of posting about it
The reason most people never ask about corporate to founder in public isn't shyness — it's the ratio. Post it on social media and hundreds of people who can't help will see it, and the two or three who could probably won't. AskMeIfYouCan inverts that: nothing is broadcast, and a single relevant person is found for you.
What a match is based on
- The same topic, as specifically as we can pin it down
- A compatible stage — someone just ahead of you, or right beside you, depending on what you asked for
- A language you both actually speak
- Region, weighted lightly here, because the experience travels better than the geography
Common questions
Who will I be talking to?
One person who has been through the same thing, matched on stage, language and — where it matters — region. You'll see what the match was based on before you reach out. You'll never see their name, photo or bio, and they won't see yours.
Is anything I write made public?
No. Nothing you write is ever published, indexed or browsable. Your intake is only used to find a match, and it is only shown as a short structured summary to the specific person you choose to contact.
Is this therapy or medical advice?
No. This is lived experience from a peer, not clinical care. If a message reads as clinical risk or crisis, we stop and show real crisis resources instead of matching.
What if nobody matches yet?
Your case stays open and quietly re-runs as new people join. We'd rather leave a gap than fill it with generated advice.
If you are in immediate danger, or thinking about harming yourself, please contact your local emergency number or a crisis line now. AskMeIfYouCan is peer support and cannot respond to emergencies.
